SIFC Advances Investment and Industrial Development Plans in Azad Kashmir

The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is supporting efforts to attract investment and promote industrial development in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
A high-level meeting was held in Muzaffarabad under the chairmanship of AJK Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani, with SIFC Secretary Jameel Qureshi and other senior officials in attendance.
The meeting reviewed measures aimed at facilitating investment, expanding industrial activity and creating employment opportunities in the region.
SIFC officials briefed the AJK prime minister on the Easy Business initiative and plans for a proposed Special Economic Zone in the region.
The Easy Business initiative is intended to make it easier for young people to access loans and establish or expand businesses, while the proposed Special Economic Zone is expected to facilitate investors and promote the use of local resources for industrial development.
The meeting also discussed regulatory reforms and measures to reduce obstacles faced by investors.
Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani expressed support for initiatives aimed at improving the business environment and attracting investment to Azad Kashmir.
According to the SIFC, its engagement is focused on translating AJK’s investment, industrialisation and employment priorities into practical development opportunities.
