KP Governor Says 13 Years of Issues Cannot Be Resolved in 11 Days

21 October, 2026 17:47

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that 13 years of accumulated issues cannot be resolved within just 11 days. Speaking to the media in Peshawar, he announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would visit the city soon and said the government was preparing a 100-day plan alongside other initiatives. Kundi also rejected reports alleging that certain groups were seeking to seize the province’s mineral resources, accusing some political parties of spreading misleading information on the issue.

The governor said peaceful protest was a democratic right of political parties but alleged that one party had been involved in vandalism. In a pointed remark about provincial politics, he said Ali Amin Gandapur was not his friend but a relative by mistake. Kundi also assured that the police would receive the resources and equipment they had requested to combat terrorism. He added that consultations with other political parties were continuing to address political and security challenges in the province.

Separately, Kundi met a delegation from Hazara Division led by Sardar Muhammad Yousaf to discuss the political situation and matters of mutual interest. During the meeting, the governor said the province had undergone significant changes and stressed that the public should benefit from them. The delegation pledged continued cooperation and support for the development of Hazara Division and efforts to resolve local public issues.
