Chaos in Israeli areas as Iran uses advanced weapons
Iranian missiles have hit Tel Aviv and surrounding areas, causing heavy damage and killing two settlers, while injuring tens of others. The attacks reportedly penetrated advanced Israeli missile defense systems, which were unable to intercept the incoming projectiles.
Hebrew news outlets said Tel Aviv and nearby areas were struck at least twice on Wednesday morning. Israeli paramedics were sent to eight locations, and a major train station was severely damaged. The mayor of Tel Aviv announced that train services across the city have been suspended until further notice. Several towns also lost electricity due to the missile strikes.
Israel’s Channel 14 reported that two settlers were killed when a missile hit Ramat Gan, a suburb of Tel Aviv.
An Iranian army spokesperson said the attacks used highly-advanced weaponry not used before, adding, “God willing, after the war, we will have a new order in the region, without the US.”
Iranian missiles also targeted the al-Menhad military base in the United Arab Emirates, where Australian forces are stationed, causing damage, according to Australia’s Ministry of Defense.
The Iranian Armed Forces have been striking Israeli targets and US bases across the region since February 28, after the US and Israel attacked locations in Iran, killing several senior officials, including Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Iran’s Ministry of Defense claims that Iranian forces have killed at least 600 US troops at various bases since the conflict began.
