Honor Magic9 could rival OnePlus 15T with larger battery

A new leak suggests that Honor is working on a compact smartphone with big features. The phone is said to have a 6.36-inch flat display and a massive 8,000 mAh battery, which is unusual for a device this size.

The source does not confirm the phone’s name, but it could be the Magic9, which was mentioned earlier this month. It’s also possible that it’s another model, but Magic9 seems likely for now.

The camera setup looks impressive. The main camera may be 200MP with a 1/1.28-inch sensor. There could also be a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with a 1/2-inch sensor.

Not everything is new, though. The phone is expected to skip 3D face recognition, just like the current Magic8, and may rely on other biometric methods instead.

The biggest highlight is the 8,000 mAh battery. If true, this would make the Magic9 one of the largest batteries in its size class, even bigger than the upcoming OnePlus 15T, which launches next week.
