The situation developed within the Karachi Flight Information Region (FIR), where a powerful storm system forced multiple international flights off their planned routes. These aircraft, operating between destinations such as Saudi Arabia and Dubai, encountered severe turbulence near the Pakistan-Iran border, creating a high-risk scenario.

Aviation sources revealed that the crisis intensified due to a complete communication lapse from Iranian authorities. Despite repeated efforts by Karachi ATC to establish contact with Tehran’s air traffic control, no response was received.
