Putin Greets Iran on New Year, Calls Russia Loyal Ally
Russia is a faithful partner and supporter of the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who wished Iranians a happy New Year.
Putin addressed this message to Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, according to the Kremlin on Saturday.
According to the message, Putin reassured Iranian leaders and citizens that Russia will continue to be Iran’s devoted partner and ally during these trying times and expressed optimism for a favorable conclusion to the US-Israeli conflict.
Putin had congratulated Ayatollah Khamenei on his election as the new head of the Islamic Republic in a telegram on February 9.
Russia has continuously denounced Washington’s and Tel-Aviv’s activities from the start of the Israeli-US onslaught against Iran in late February and offered to assist in easing regional issues.
On February 28, around eight months after launching an aggressive war on Iran, the US and Israel launched a fresh series of attacks.
Iran started retaliating right after, attacking US sites and interests in neighboring nations as well as Israeli-occupied regions with missiles and drones.
