Iran Keeps Eye on US Military Presence in Region: Qalibaf

Speaker of the Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has warned the United States that Iran is keeping a close eye on the presence of American military in the area.

Qalibaf responded to recent rumors of US military operations in a post on the social media site X on Wednesday.

He wrote, “We are closely monitoring all US movements in the region, especially the deployment of their soldiers.”

With 26 days of US-Israeli aggression against Iran, tensions are at an all-time high. The comments come after assertions made by US President Donald Trump about talks with the Islamic Republic and unverified information from Western media.

Such ideas for negotiations have not yet been formally confirmed by Iranian officials.

Analysts speculate that Trump’s suggested five-day timetable for negotiations could be a front for possible unfriendly steps.

Trump has made remarks about the takeover of Iran’s Kharg Island prior to the diplomatic efforts. The Pentagon has reportedly ordered about 2,000 soldiers from the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division to deploy to West Asia, according to reports from American media agencies.

The Iranian Army’s Navy has carried out a military operation in reaction to these maritime movements.

Official accounts state that the USS Abraham Lincoln strike group was targeted by Iranian Army Navy missiles, forcing the US naval force to reposition.
