Sydney Sweeney Tipped as Next James Bond 007 by Hollywood Director
Sydney Sweeney, star of the hit series Euphoria, has emerged as a surprising contender to play the next James Bond. Hollywood director Paul Feig, who recently collaborated with Sweeney on The Housemaid, expressed his preference for her to take on the iconic 007 role instead of a traditional “Bond girl.”
“I’d rather Sydney be the next Bond,” Feig told The Sun, praising her as “professional, smart and savvy” and saying she would make a strong spy. Sweeney, 28, has previously expressed excitement about joining the James Bond franchise, especially after Amazon MGM assumed creative control of the series.
When asked if she would consider a Bond girl role, Sweeney responded, “I think I’d have more fun as James Bond,” signaling her ambition to play the central character.
The future of the franchise remains a hot topic following Daniel Craig’s final appearance in No Time To Die. Other actors rumored for 007 include Jacob Elordi, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Damson Idris, and Callum Turner. Meanwhile, Denis Villeneuve is set to direct the next film with a script by Steven Knight, ushering in a new era for the franchise.
While it is unclear whether Sweeney will officially be considered, the speculation has reignited debates over gender and diversity in the future of James Bond.
