Petrol Price Relief Expected as Govt Plans Cut After Gulf Situation Improves

07 April, 2026 16:35

The government has said that people in Islamabad may soon get relief in petroleum prices. This is expected once the situation in the Gulf region improves and global pressure decreases.

The update came during an important meeting at Parliament House on Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by Khawaja Asif, with senior leaders from the ruling alliance in attendance.

Officials explained that the recent increase in petrol prices happened بسبب unusual global conditions. They added that the government plans to reduce prices as soon as the situation becomes stable.

Key ministers, including Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ahsan Iqbal, Ali Pervaiz Malik, and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, briefed participants on the economic situation and fuel supply.

Leaders from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan Peoples Party, and Muttahida Qaumi Movement also took part in the discussion.

Ministers said steps are being taken to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply across the country. They are also working to manage the impact of global market pressure on local prices.

After the meeting, officials said coalition partners expressed confidence in the government’s policies and supported its efforts to keep the economy stable.

Authorities repeated that once global conditions improve, petroleum prices will be reduced, which will bring relief to people facing high fuel costs.
