Biometric system to be introduced in all Punjab police stations
LAHORE: Authorities have decided to introduce a biometric system in all police stations across Punjab.
With the help of NADRA, biometric verification will now be mandatory in police stations. Officials said that no case, whether for a complainant or an accused person, will be registered without biometric verification.
The police have also been directed to activate a biometric module in the police station record management system. This step is aimed at improving transparency and preventing fake entries.
Authorities have instructed that biometric devices must be available in all police stations within seven days. Police officers have also been told to immediately check the stock of biometric devices to ensure quick implementation.
These orders have been issued by the Punjab Police headquarters to ensure the system is enforced without delay.
