Young MBBS Student Fehmida Laghari Committed Suicide
Young Mbbs student from Sindh Fehmida Lagari allegedly committed suicide at her home in Mirpurkhas district on Thursday by shooting herself with a gun in her head. She was studying at Muhammad Medical college Mirpurkhas and she was student of 3rd year. She was a topper of her batch and now. she has tragically passed away after committing suicide. The suicide reason claimed by her family is that extreme mental stress.
Fehmida’s father Intizar Hussain Laghari, shared that her daughter was struggling for months. The young student’s family went and raised complaints with the college authorities.
Reports said that Fehmida allegedly being mistreated by a few teachers and some student and due to this reason, she faces immense mental stress.
Fehmida’s sister Muqaddas Laghari requested the internet to raise voice for her late sister. As the collage authority did nothing to address the situation and Chancellor Dr Syed Razi Muhammad told the media that the university’s principal had received a verbal complaint from Fahmeeda but instead of taking any action he had asked her to submit a written complaint. He lamented that the complaint against lecturer Abid Lighari, and student, Abdullah, did not reach his office. After months of mental torture, Fehmida Laghari committed suicide.
The internet is shocked by this situation.
One user wrote, “Such teachers should have been dealt by CCD. May Allah bless the deceased soul.”
Another added, “Why did the family not remove their daughter from that college. She is no more now.”
One said, “Why such issues are not highlighted before the victim’s death. This is so sad.”
The university suspended the teacher as per the notification issued by vice chancellor Dr Shamsul Arfeen Khan.
Meanwhile, the DIG Mirpurkhas Capt (R) Faisal Abdullah Chachar has formed a three-member committee to probe the matter. Headed by SSP Syed Fida Hussain Shah, with SP headquarters Mir Aftab Hussain Talpur and ASP Quratulain as its members, the committee will have to complete the investigation in 10 days.
