Kabul: The Afghan Taliban regime is isolated globally due to terror support for terrorists.

The international community’s trust in the Afghan Taliban regime has completely disappeared due to its alleged links to terrorism, drug trafficking, and other criminal networks.

A new report has revealed shocking revelations about the Afghan Taliban’s government structure, exposing their alleged relationships and activities.

According to a report by the American research institute Middle East Institute, approximately 55 members and officials of the Taliban regime still have direct and indirect links to Al-Qaeda. More than 20% of the Afghan Taliban leaders have been the masterminds of bombings and suicide attacks.

The Afghan media outlet Afghanistan International has claimed that 13 to 14 members of the Taliban’s 33-member cabinet are on the UN sanctions list. The names of Afghan interim Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund and the deputy prime minister are also on the global sanctions list.

Similarly, Afghan interim Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani, Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, and several other ministers are also part of the sanctions list.

The Afghan media further added that the assets of these leaders have been frozen, while travel and arms purchase restrictions are also imposed on them.

Additionally, the report states that the current sanctions list includes a total of 135 individuals and 5 entities associated with the Taliban.

Regarding the matter, experts shared the view that their links to global terrorists and their alleged support reflect the fact that the Afghan Taliban are still involved in terrorist activities, due to which they face global isolation.
