Ayatollah Khamenei Calls for More Domestic Production, Less Reliance on Dollar
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei has praised President Masoud Pezeshkian’s administration for meeting people’s needs despite the US-Israeli aggression and blockade.
In a message marking Government Week on Friday, Ayatollah Khamenei said the government had taken important steps to provide essential goods and services, repair damaged areas and manage energy supplies despite sanctions and restrictions.
He said Iran must focus on addressing economic challenges such as inflation while increasing domestic production and gradually reducing the role of the US dollar in transactions.
“The key to resolving all these matters in this field lies in relying as much as possible on domestic production,” he said. He added that imports should be used wisely when local production is not sufficient.
The remarks came after the United States launched a sanctions campaign called “Operation Economic Outcast” against Iran.
Ayatollah Khamenei said Iran should make better use of its resources, involve people and experts, and develop new capabilities to support economic growth.
He also highlighted the importance of using technologies and innovations developed by young elites, saying new ideas could help the country make faster progress.
Preserving unity and social cohesion
Ayatollah Khamenei also stressed the importance of “preserving unity and safeguarding social cohesion” and called it a “fundamental” issue for the country.
He warned against statements and debates that could weaken national unity, including arguments over war or negotiations and compromise or confrontation.
“Therefore, I firmly declare that committing any act that harms social cohesion is prohibited,” he said.
The Leader also called for greater attention to culture, education and training in government policies. He specifically praised teachers, university and seminary instructors, nurses, doctors and homemakers for their role in serving society and shaping Iran’s future.
He expressed hope that implementing these measures would help build an “ever-stronger Iran”.
