Mohsen Rezaei Says Iran Could Leave NPT, Offers Mediation in Saudi-Yemen War

Tehran: Mohseen Rezaei security chief of Iran said that Iran is weighing a possible withdrawal from the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) depending on the United States’ future approach and actions.

During a recent interview security chief of Iran said that Iran has reaffirmed that there has been no change in its position regarding on the fatwa of its late leader Ali Khamenei. However, he said that it is untimely to say whatever about what will happen in the future.

Mohsen Rezaei clarified that Iran is currently reviewing whether it should withdraw from the NPT or not. According to him, this decision will depend on the actions and behavior of the United States.

Meanwhile, Iran’s security chief also open to help end the current war between Saudi Arabia and Yemen. He said that Iran openly wants to end the war between Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

He said that if Saudi Arabia and Yemen ask Iran for help, Tehran is fully prepared to help achieve peace between the two sides.

Mohsen Rezaei’s statements come at a time when tensions remain between Iran, the United States and other countries in the region, while the conflict between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia in Yemen also remains a major issue for regional security.
