Saudi Arabia Intercepts Houthi Militia Missile Fired Toward Riyadh

On Saturday, Saudi authorities reported, a ballistic missile fired up by Yemen’s Houthi Militia group toward Riyadh by Saudi air defences at a nearby fuel depot.

Fire group manage to extinguish the blaze under control after an Aramco-logo fuel tank caught fire at a fuel depot near the airport. Footage showed a large column of black smoke rising near the airport. The missile attack caused no reported casualties or major damage Saudi authorities reported.

The missile was intercepted and destroy before reaching Riyadh, according to the Saudi-led coalition, also they reported that air defence stopped other attacks targeting civilian areas and infrastructure in Bisha, Taif, Farasan and Yanbu.

However, two distinct military operations using a blend of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones which is directed by Houthis, according to Houthis reports. Yahya Saree, a Houthi Militia spokesman said the first operation under attack sites described as sensitive in Riyadh, while the other engrossed on Aramco facilities in Yanbu.

The air raid alerts instant by Saudi authorities, caution citizens of a possible aerial threat. Blasts were heard in parts of Riyadh, according to local residents, as smoke was seen going up from the area nearby the airport. A major disturbance at King Khalid Airport reported by FlightRadar24, before normal flight movement started to come back.

The latest incident comes as fighting between Saudi forces and the Houthis continues to escalate. The Houthis have increased their military campaign in Yemen in recent weeks and Saudi airstrikes targeting areas held by the group.

This recent incident marks a major intensification because Riyadh itself has come under straight warning amid the renewed clash. The attacks have also elevated alarms over Saudi energy infrastructure and important regional shipping routes.
