Field Marshal Asim Munir Visits POF, Reviews Defence Production and Upgrades

Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) in Wah, where he observed tests and trials of weapons and ammunition designed and produced locally.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir reviewed POF’s production capabilities, export potential and its role in strengthening Pakistan’s defence industry.

He was briefed on the organisation’s various activities and its contribution to strengthening national defence. He was also informed about the development and local production of different types of military equipment.

During the visit, the field marshal observed tests and trials of locally designed and manufactured weapons and ammunition.

He was also briefed on progress in transforming POF into a corporate organisation, as well as efforts to increase local manufacturing and upgrade existing equipment.

According to ISPR, two new industrial plants are being installed at POF and are expected to begin production by the end of this year.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to promoting self-reliance, local production and technological innovation in the defence sector.
