SCO Leads Significant 4G Upgrade in AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

A major milestone towards digital connectivity in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, 4G service is being provided in remote areas under the Special Communication Organization.

The Special Communication Organization is installing 47 new 4G towers in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. Under the SCO, 11 towers have been installed to provide modern facilities in remote areas.

53 out of a total of 87 sites have also been upgraded for 4G services in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. The work to further facilitate the communication system in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will be completed by December 2026. Improved connectivity will create new opportunities for education, business, and employment in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
