Meta Introduces New Meta Account for All Apps
Meta has announced improvements to its Accounts Center.
This accounts center has now been renamed Meta Account, where it will be possible to access all Meta accounts simultaneously, including the company’s apps such as Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and WhatsApp.
Along with apps, access to the company’s devices such as artificial intelligence (AI) glasses and MetaQuest headsets will also be provided there.
The purpose of this change is to simplify the process of controlling meta accounts.
A statement issued by Meta said that this upgrade will be gradually introduced over the next year.
All settings for Meta apps will be accessible from the Meta account, and you will be able to use options like email addresses, connected accounts, and a single password for all accounts.
However, WhatsApp passkeys will be controlled within WhatsApp itself.
Similarly, app-specific settings, such as the list of people who have seen Facebook posts, will only be visible in Facebook settings, and such specific settings will not be available in the Meta account.
Parental controls will be available to users in a meta account so you can supervise your children’s accounts.
According to the company, it will be up to the user to decide which apps and devices to include in the Meta Account dashboard, while you can also create different Meta Accounts for each account.
