Prince William Attends RAF Valley 85th Anniversary in Uniform
Britain’s future king Prince William returned to RAF Valley in Holyhead, Anglesey on Tuesday, taking the salute in camouflage as the base marked its 85th anniversary. Just ahead of his 15th wedding anniversary, the visit carried special meaning, as the Prince revisited a place closely tied to his early military career.
The location RAF Valley is familiar one for as he’s having been stationed at RAF Valley from 2010 to 2013 as a Search and Rescue pilot. This time, however, he arrived in his role as Royal Honorary Air Commodore, embracing the occasion with full military formality as he inspected a ceremonial parade and engaged with personnel.
The future king offered the noticeable Prince of Wales Award in No. 4 Flying Training School, to the high Qualified Flying Instructor from, which trains the next wave of fast jet pilots during the event.
RAF Valley still assist an essential training hub for the Royal Air Force, to train frontline operations pilots across the UK defence network. Witnesses noted the Prince’s effortless confidence at the base, as he shared handshakes, brief conversations, and quiet moments with trainees who may one day follow in his footsteps.
