Is UAE stopped visa renewals for Pakistani nationals?

09 May, 2026 10:32

ISLAMABAD: Several unverified reports on social media claimed that the United Arab Emirates has stopped renewing visas for Pakistani citizens and started deporting them.

Some social media users also claimed that their visas were canceled by the UAE government even though they had not violated any rules, and that they were facing forced deportation.

In response, Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior said it has taken notice of speculative reports circulating in parts of the media, especially on social media, about the alleged deportation of Pakistani nationals from the brotherly Islamic country UAE.

“Having gone through the details and data it is necessary to state that all such reporting is malafide and part of vicious propaganda by vested interest. No country or sect specific deportations from any country including UAE are being carried out,” the ministry clarified.

The ministry explained that “Deportations, if any, are a routine process in line with the host country regulations and legal system, violations of their laws and overstay / illegal documentation”.

It further confirmed that “At the same time Pakistani nationals, having fulfilled host country visa and work based requirements continue to visit / access work visas in UAE and other friendly countries without prejudice,”.

The ministry said the fake news and social media posts spreading such claims are malicious and fabricated to serve hidden motives.

Officials also stated that if any issue arises involving a Pakistani citizen abroad, it is handled on a case-to-case basis with the concerned country through official foreign office channels.
