PSX ends week strong as KSE-100 gains nearly 5%
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended the week on a strong positive note, as investor confidence improved in the market. The benchmark KSE-100 Index rose by 4.98% and closed at 171,115 points, gaining 8,121 points during the week.
During the week, the market showed strong movement, with the index reaching a high of 173,274 points and a low of 162,532 points. These ups and downs showed both volatility and recovery, as investors continued buying shares in different sectors while also taking profits at times.
Overall trading activity remained strong. Around 4.36 billion shares were traded, with a total value of Rs210 billion. Market capitalization also increased by Rs880 billion, reaching Rs18,903 billion by the end of the week.
Analysts said the market gains were mainly due to buying at lower prices and positive sentiment caused by falling oil prices. They also said that easing tensions in the region helped improve investor confidence.
Experts, however, warned that future market stability will depend on international financial support and updates from the upcoming IMF review. Despite some uncertainty, the strong weekly performance shows that the PSX remains resilient after recent fluctuations.
