Pakistan Returns to Global Capital Markets with Dollar Eurobond

02 September, 2026 13:57

Pakistan has started the process of returning to international capital markets by launching a US dollar benchmark Eurobond. The move is part of the government’s strategy to promote investment and improve Pakistan’s access to global financial markets.

According to Finance Minister’s Adviser Khurram Shehzad, the Ministry of Finance and the Government of Pakistan have begun the process of issuing the Eurobond for international investors.

Pakistan plans to offer a dual-tranche Eurobond with maturities of five and 10 years. The two dollar-denominated bonds will allow Pakistan to raise funds from global investors.

Shehzad said the issuance is an important step towards accessing international capital markets, taking into account current market conditions.

He said the move comes after recent upgrades in Pakistan’s sovereign credit ratings and improvements in the country’s economic fundamentals. Better macroeconomic indicators and policy measures are also helping restore confidence among international investors.

The return to global capital markets reflects growing economic confidence and could open new opportunities for investment in Pakistan.
