Security forces kill key militant commander in North Waziristan operation
SPIN WAM (North Waziristan): Security forces have achieved a major success in an intelligence-based operation in the Spin Wam area of North Waziristan.
According to security sources, a highly wanted militant commander, identified as “Umar alias Jan Mir alias Tor Saqib,” was killed along with four other militants during the operation.
Officials said a bounty of Rs 3 million had been placed on the militant commander. He was considered a key figure behind several attacks on security forces and civilians.
Security sources added that the slain militant had also set up underground bunkers, tunnels, and explosive traps in the area around Bobali Masjid in Spin Wam.
They said security forces surrounded the militants in a coordinated operation and successfully neutralized them.
Experts believe the killing of this militant commander will help improve peace and stability in the region and deal a major setback to militant networks.
They also said that operations against militant groups are continuing under the broader framework of Operation Azm-e-Istehkam.
