ISLAMABAD: The government has increased the prices of kerosene oil, light diesel, and jet fuel, according to an official notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

Under the new rates, light diesel oil has gone up by Rs1.62 per litre, making the new price Rs275.54 per litre. Kerosene oil has also increased by Rs1.71 per litre, bringing its new rate to Rs313.44 per litre.

Jet fuel prices have been raised by Rs2.10 per litre, setting the new price at Rs332.32 per litre.

OGRA said the revised prices are based on changes in international market trends and the country’s pricing system. The new rates will apply immediately.

Interestingly, just a day earlier, the government had reduced petroleum prices, giving some relief to consumers. Petrol was cut by Rs6 per litre, while diesel was reduced by Rs6.80 per litre.

The new fuel prices came into effect from midnight and will remain valid for the next review period.
