Pakistan Celebrates Eid ul Adha with Prayers for Peace in Middle East

People across Pakistan celebrated Eid ul Adha on Wednesday with religious spirit and special prayers for peace in the Middle East amid the ongoing tensions involving Iran, the US and Israel.

Large Eid prayers were held at mosques and Eidgahs nationwide, where people exchanged greetings and later performed animal sacrifices. Families shared meat with relatives and the needy while gathering for traditional Eid meals.

Special prayers were offered for Pakistan’s peace, security and economic stability, as well as for Muslims affected by wars and humanitarian crises around the world. Religious scholars, during Eid sermons, stressed the importance of sacrifice, unity, compassion and helping underprivileged people during the three-day festival.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari and Field Marshal Asim Munir also extended Eid greetings to the nation and the Muslim Ummah.

PM Shehbaz said Eid ul Adha reflects the values of faith, sacrifice and selflessness shown by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS). He urged people to support the poor, promote unity and remember oppressed Muslims in Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

President Zardari said the occasion teaches obedience, patience and sacrifice, adding that true success comes through serving humanity and caring for those in need. He emphasized supporting orphans, widows, labourers and underprivileged citizens while promoting national unity and tolerance.

According to the ISPR, Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with the Air Chief and Naval Chief, also conveyed Eid greetings and prayed for peace, prosperity and unity in Pakistan. The armed forces reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the country’s sovereignty and paid tribute to the families of martyrs for their sacrifices.
