President Zardari Highlights Youm-e-Takbeer as Sovereignty Milestone
President Zardari distinguished that Youm-e-Takbeer is a milestone in Pakistan’s history marking the successful nuclear tests at Chagai on May 28, 1998 and achieved tactical power. According to him, this achievement provided a strong and consistent defense for Pakistan’s independence and national honor.
He stated that the nuclear tests elevated Pakistan as the seventh nuclear-armed nation globally and improved its deterrence capability. According to the president, Pakistan’s nuclear programme emerged in reaction to regional security concerns, particularly after India’s nuclear motivations and earlier nuclear tests.
He stated that along with international pressure, sanctions, and tough situations, our country continued firmly to shielding its national interests. President admired the scientists, engineers, and armed forces for their hard work in attaining this momentous, and also noted the importance of national leadership’s support.
According to him, the 1998 nuclear tests took stability back to South Asia and represent the unity and resolve of the Pakistani people. He said the nuclear aptitude is a national trust that symbolizes the people’s aims and sense of security.
He pointed to modern challenges such as cyber warfare and advanced technologies, saying Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared and professionally capable. He said Pakistan remains a nonviolent country while being fully ready for self-defence, and ended his message praying for its safety, development, and unity.
