Trump Claims Iran Has Agreed Not to Build or Acquire Nuclear Weapons

US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran has not only agreed not to develop nuclear weapons but also to not acquire such weapons by any means, which he called a significant breakthrough in the ongoing negotiations.

In an interview with a US news channel, Trump said that he prefers an agreement to a conflict, because after any agreement, the Strait of Hormuz can be opened immediately.

According to him, the key condition set by the United States is that Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons capability.

He stated that despite the tough approach of Iranian negotiators slowing the talks, while Washington is prioritizing durable outcomes instead of rushing the process.

While talking about the situation in the region, the US president also claimed that the US targeted Iran’s military leadership and other important targets but avoided completely destroying the Iranian army.

According to him, some past wars have taught us that destroying the entire state structure of a country leads to long-term instability.

Trump added that, keeping in mind the experiences in Iraq in the past, a different strategy was adopted this time so that the path to stability in the region could be paved in the future.
