Nida Yasir’s Daughter Silah Criticises Brands and Strangers Over Unwanted Family Videos

The television host Nida Yasir and actor Yasir Nawaz daughter Silah has spoken out against brands and strangers who record her family without their permission.

She posted a story on her Instagram and wrote,“Being a public figure does not give anyone the right to record us without our consent or post videos of us without permission.”

Silah said that her family has often been filmed by brands without consent, particularly when they visit different places. She recalled having one of her worst experiences of this kind at Locate this year.

While acknowledging that brands create content for their social media platforms, Silah said asking for permission before recording someone should be treated as a basic practice.

She also raised concerns about strangers filming her family in public spaces. According to Silah, there is a difference between brands creating promotional content and people secretly recording them while they are simply spending time together.

She said “But when random people are recording us while we’re literally sitting and eating, and then posting it with a derogatory caption that is something I will not tolerate.”

Silah stressed that being a public figure does not mean a person gives up their right to privacy or basic respect, even when they are in a public place.
