K-Pop Demon Hunters Star EJAE Marries Samuel Kim in Seoul

The hit animated K-Pop Demon Hunters star who is known for her songs EJAE, has married her longtime fiancé, Music producer Samuel in a special ceremony in Seoul, South Korea.

The duo tied knot on October 17, celebrating their love with a wedding that brought together family traditions, personal memories and beautiful moments. As per Vogue report, the wedding celebration started with traditions Paebeak ceremony, a centuries-old Korean custom that has traditionally welcomed the bride into the groom’s family.

The ceremony and welcome party were held at Congdu50, a Korean fusion restaurant with beautiful views of Seoul. EJAE told the magazine that including this tradition was important to them because they wanted their wedding to reflect their Korean heritage.

The couple later exchanged vows at Stage 28, a venue that holds a special place in EJAE’s heart. The venue holds childhood memories for EJAE, as her grandparents lived there and she often explored the garden and walked through the nearby hills with her grandfather. Adding to its sentimental value, EJAE’s brother also chose the same venue for his wedding.

On October 19, EJAE shared a series of wedding pictures on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse of the happy occasion. One of the photos showed the newlyweds raising their arms in joy as they walked down the aisle after the ceremony.

EJAE’s Beautiful Wedding Looks

EJAE wore a custom white tulle gown by Danielle Frankel for the ceremony. The strapless dress featured a bubbled hem and a nude chiffon layer, giving it a modern and elegant look.

EJAE added a sentimental touch to her bridal outfit by wearing treasured family jewellery that her grandmother had passed down to her mother.

The singer switched into a custom Zac Posen chiffon dress for the party and later wore a shimmery Milla Nova mini dress to enjoy the dancing. Samuel also carried two different look for the wedding event, at first chose a classic black tuxedo by Bhambi’s Custom Tailors then change it into a custom white tuxedo by Posen for the celebrations afterward.

EJAE and Samuel also wore traditional Korean ceremonial outfits for their Paebaek ceremony, making sure their wedding included an important part of their cultural heritage.

How EJAE and Samuel Fell in Love

EJAE and Samuel’s relationship began in 2017 when a mutual friend introduced them for a songwriting session at Kim’s home studio. Although they initially met to work on music, they soon discovered that they had much more in common.

Speaking to Vogue, EJAE recalled that they worked on a few songs but mostly connected with each other. They shared a love for anime and similar music, and things changed when Kim confessed his feelings one evening. The two have been together ever since.

Over time, their relationship grew stronger, and they eventually moved in together in Brooklyn. After more than seven years of dating, Samuel planned a special surprise for EJAE last June.

He took her for a walk in one of their favourite parks in Brooklyn, where their friends had secretly arranged a picnic. It was there that he asked her to marry him.

EJAE’s Career Changed Their Wedding Plans

Soon after their engagement, K-Pop Demon Hunters became a major hit, bringing EJAE even more attention through her work with the fictional K-pop group HUNTR/X. The group’s song Golden reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, helping the singer gain wider recognition.

With EJAE occupied by promotional work and awards events, the couple decided to adjust their plans for the wedding. Their original plan was to marry in California in November 2026, but they later brought the date forward and chose South Korea for the ceremony.

Speaking with Vogue, the singer told that the change gave them only around four months to prepare. And admitted that organizing the wedding was hectic at times, but they worked as a team to make it a memorable day.

Reflecting on her big day, EJAE said the wedding was beautiful, meaningful and enjoyable. She said walking down the lane and seeing her closest friends and family there for her made the moment memorable.

Although the couple felt a little nervy, their eagerness about starting a new chapter together was even bigger. The day held special meaning for EJAE, not just because she was getting married, but because she could share the moment with her closest friends and family.
