AJK govt offers Rs10 mn reward for arrest of four JAAC leaders
MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has announced a reward of Rs10 million for information leading to the arrest of four wanted leaders of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC).
According to an official notification, anyone who provides information that helps authorities arrest the suspects will receive the reward. The government also assured that the identity of the informant will remain confidential.
The four individuals named in the notification are Shaukat Nawaz Mir, Umar Nazir Kashmiri, Mehran Arshad Khawaja, and Sardar Aman.
The AJK Home Department has directed the Inspector General of Police to immediately implement the reward scheme and coordinate efforts to arrest the wanted individuals.
Meanwhile, an audio recording allegedly featuring some leaders of the banned JAAC recently surfaced on social media.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry shared the audio clip online, calling it a serious security matter.
According to reports, the recording allegedly includes discussions about the situation in Rawalakot and references to plans linked to unrest in the region.
Claims surrounding the audio suggest that certain actions were allegedly planned based on developments in Rawalakot before expanding to other areas, including Muzaffarabad and Mirpur.
Authorities continue to investigate the matter and are working to arrest the wanted individuals.
