Karachi Weather Today: Hot and Humid Conditions with Temperatures Hitting 39°C

10 June, 2026 11:28

Karachi residents are set to endure hot, humid, and partly cloudy weather throughout Wednesday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has confirmed.

The Met Office recorded humidity levels at 79 per cent across the city, significantly amplifying the perceived heat beyond what the thermometer alone reflects. South-westerly winds are blowing at 18 kilometres per hour, though officials note these offer only limited respite from the oppressive conditions. The PMD has forecast maximum temperatures ranging between 37°C and 39°C, with warm and muggy weather expected to persist across the day. Weather authorities have also ruled out any prospect of rainfall in the city for the foreseeable future, with dry conditions set to continue.

Across the broader country, mainly hot and dry weather is anticipated in most regions, with particularly intense heat expected in low-lying plains. The exception is Kashmir and surrounding mountainous areas, where rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms are likely.

Morning temperatures recorded across major Pakistani cities were as follows: Islamabad 21°C, Lahore and Karachi both at 30°C, Peshawar 24°C, Quetta 20°C, Murree and Gilgit 15°C, and Muzaffarabad 22°C.

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy skies are expected in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Anantnag, and Baramula, with chances of rain, wind, and thunderstorms in Shopian and Pulwama. Morning temperatures there were: Srinagar, Anantnag, Pulwama, and Baramula at 14°C, Jammu 25°C, Leh 7°C, and Shopian 13°C.
