EU New Migration and Asylum Pact Effective from Today

EU new migration and asylum pact rules will take effect from Friday June 12,2026. The policy introduces new mechanisms for handling migration flows across the Europe.

After the far right parties protests all over Europe the policy changes in Asylum and migration will come into act from today. The far right parties were of a view that the resources are decreasing with the increasing number of migrants for the citizens. The existing International scenario made it worsen for Europe to manage the inflation and unemployment rates going up.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described the pact as “fair and firm”, and said it would deliver “more secure external borders, solidarity between member States and more efficient procedures for asylum and return”.

This policy is right now implemented for a period of 2 years only.
