Truck Drivers Refuse to Travel to Azad Kashmir Over Security Concerns
Truck drivers have refused to continue transporting goods to Azad Kashmir, saying they are unable to risk their lives due to violence and unrest linked to the banned Joint Action Committee.
According to drivers, groups associated with the committee, claiming to act in the name of public rights, are now harming the local population economically and creating a dangerous situation for transport workers.
The drivers said they stopped travelling to Azad Kashmir after incidents of firing and vandalism allegedly carried out by members of the banned group.
One driver said that armed individuals linked to the committee were opening fire, and they did not want to suffer losses or put their lives at risk.
Another driver said that no one has officially stopped them from entering Azad Kashmir, but they are choosing not to travel to protect their lives.
They added that no truck will enter Azad Kashmir until the situation becomes completely normal.
Drivers stated that they cannot endanger their lives due to what they described as violence and intimidation, and that the decision was taken for their own safety.
They further explained that cargo transport services will remain limited until law and order is fully restored.
Experts say that illegal protests and incidents of vandalism during demonstrations have exposed the negative intentions behind the so-called movement.
They also noted that public support for government action against the banned committee reflects growing concern over law and order in the region.
