"No Change In The Offing," Says Sanaullah On PM Shehbaz
Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, on Saturday dismissed what he called “baseless speculations” regarding any change in the Prime Minister’s Office, following the recent passage of the federal budget for 2026-27.
Addressing the media on Saturday, the senior PML-N leader cautioned those spreading rumours and misinformation, stating that such elements were attempting to create instability and confusion in the country through fabricated narratives.
Responding to a question on the matter, the PM’s aide rejected speculation about Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif being replaced, calling such claims misleading and incorrect.
He stated that the prime minister was steering the country in the right direction and had strengthened Pakistan’s standing on the global stage, adding, “Pakistan has gained recognition and respect across the world.”
He further noted that the prime minister’s sincerity, hard work and unwavering commitment to the nation had earned him admiration from people across all walks of life.
Sanaullah added that the premier’s leadership and his dedication toward resolving the country’s challenges were being widely appreciated by the public.
Government’s Stance On Dialogue With Opposition
Responding to another question, Sanaullah said the government had consistently remained open to dialogue with the opposition.
He recalled that even during his own party’s time in opposition, cases had been filed against its leaders, yet PML-N continued to place its trust in the democratic process.
Regional Developments And Iran Sanctions
Commenting on regional developments, Sanaullah said the lifting of sanctions on Iran would have a positive effect on Pakistan’s economy and could pave the way for new trade and economic cooperation opportunities.
Political Situation In Gilgit-Baltistan
Speaking on the political landscape in Gilgit-Baltistan, he said PML-N would take on the role of a constructive opposition in the region.
He added that the Pakistan Peoples Party had won the highest number of seats in the region and was currently engaged in consultations with other parties to form a coalition government.
