How Much Tax Is Included in Petrol and Diesel Prices? Key Details Revealed

Details of taxes in the current price of petrol and diesel have been revealed.

According to the report, sources in the Petroleum Division claimed that 29 percent tax is included in the price of petrol per liter, and Rs 88.7 paise in taxes are included in the price of one liter of petrol.

Sources say that the price of petrol per liter includes Rs 19.32 paise in customs duty, Rs 66.25 paise in petroleum levy and Rs 2.50 paise in climate support levy.

According to sources in the Petroleum Division, 29 percent taxes are also included in the price of one liter of diesel, and taxes of Rs 91.15 paise are imposed on the price of one liter of diesel.

According to sources, that one liter of diesel price includes Rs 15.68 in customs duty, Rs 72.97 in levy, and Rs 2.50 in climate support levy.

The government had lowered the price of petrol by Rs 74.28 per litre and diesel by Rs 67.31 per two days ago. The updated prices have set petrol at Rs 299.50 per litre and diesel at Rs 311.47 per litre.
