Speeding Car Breaks Through ImamBargah Barrier in Karachi

A speeding car broke through the barrier outside an imambargah within the jurisdiction of Darakhshan police station in Karachi, ramming into the premises while a religious gathering, or majlis, was underway.

The vehicle ploughed into participants at the majlis, leaving a child dead and at least 11 others injured, according to initial reports from the scene.

Police sources said the incident occurred due to negligence on the part of the traffic police, raising questions over the barrier’s placement and the security arrangements around the site.
