Israeli Fire in Southern Lebanon Kills Two Despite Ceasefire

Two people were killed after Israeli military forces opened fire on a group of individuals in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s Civil Defense and the official National News Agency (NNA). The incident occurred near a bulldozer that was clearing a road in the al-Deir area of Nabatieh al-Fawqa on Tuesday.
Lebanese authorities described the shooting as a violation of the US-sponsored ceasefire that was reached last week between Israel and the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah. The Israeli military acknowledged the reports and stated that it was reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The deadly shooting is the latest reported breach since the ceasefire came into effect, raising concerns about renewed tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border. Meanwhile, Iran has previously warned that it would respond if Israeli forces carried out further military actions in Lebanon, adding to fears of a wider regional escalation.
