Ukraine Launches One of War’s Largest Drone Attacks Across Russia

Ukraine has carried out one of its largest drone assaults since the start of the war, targeting 12 regions across Russia as well as the Crimean Peninsula. According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, air defense systems intercepted 660 drones during the attack, marking one of the most extensive aerial operations of the conflict.
Russia’s state-run TASS news agency reported that the strike involved more drones than any previous Ukrainian attack over the past year. The Defense Ministry said the previous largest assault this year occurred on May 17, when it claimed to have intercepted 556 Ukrainian drones.
The latest exchange underscores the continuing escalation of the conflict, with both sides increasingly relying on long-range drone operations. While Russian authorities highlighted the number of intercepted drones, Ukrainian officials have not immediately commented on the reported scale of the operation or its intended targets.
