Taliban policies push Afghanistan toward civil conflict again
Reports say that internal tensions in Afghanistan are increasing once again, with claims of growing armed resistance in parts of the country, especially Badakhshan province.
According to Afghanistan International, a well-known Afghan media outlet, rebel commander Juma Khan Fatah is increasing his military preparations against the Taliban authorities. The situation in Badakhshan is described as highly tense.
The report says that differences between the Taliban administration and former deputy governor Juma Khan Fatah have turned into a serious political and security crisis.
It is claimed that Juma Khan Fatah is organizing fighters and holding consultations with local elders while preparing for possible conflict. Despite offers of talks and positions from the Taliban, he has reportedly refused to return to the government structure.
According to the report, he has placed his forces on high alert and strengthened both military and logistical readiness. He also believes that the mountainous terrain of Badakhshan would make any government military operation difficult.
The situation comes as reports suggest that several armed groups are active in Afghanistan, including the National Resistance Front, Afghan Freedom Front, Afghan Green Trend, and Juma Khan Fatah’s group.
Experts say that internal divisions and struggles over control of resources have created instability within the country. They also note that growing resistance movements reflect dissatisfaction among parts of the population with Taliban rule.
The overall situation highlights ongoing political and security challenges in Afghanistan as different groups continue to compete for influence.
