Salman Khan’s ‘Blackbuck’ Dispute: Court Denies Interim Relief Till July 6

Salman Khan’s film Blackbuck film dispute take a new turn. The court declined to pass an immediate interim injunction and scheduling the next hearing for July 6 instead of issuing an immediate injunction. Soon after, producer Amit Jani made a major announcement.

Indian Media reports claimed that, Salman Khan took the stand in the court that the proposed film ‘Blackbuck: The Battle for Legacy’ has included references to his personality, personal life and the famous blackbuck poaching case of the past, which are in violation of his personality rights.

The actor also claimed in his plea that the film’s promotional material shows a character who resembles him, wearing a blue bracelet and contains references to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case involving gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

During the legal proceedings, the court declined to grant an interim stay on the release of the film, in the aftermath of the hearing, Amit Jani reacted through a post on X. saying that Salman Khan did not get any relief from the court and no ban was imposed on the film.

Film’s producer Amit Jani claimed that around 8000 cinemas in the world where his film will be released. He said that the court does not distinguish in contradiction of any party and all decisions are made according to the law.

At the hearing of the case, the lawyer of film makers told the court that, the film has not yet been sent to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for approval.

Further, about the released date of the film, do during hearing the lawyer clarified that the film’s release date has not yet been finalized. He guaranteed that the film will not be submitted to the Censor Board before the next hearing.

The next hearing of the case will now be held on July 6, where the court will further examine Salman Khan’s application and the filmmakers’ position.
