Iran Security Chief Says Funeral Turnout for Khamenei Signals “New Equation”

Iran’s national security chief Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr said the large turnout at the funeral ceremony of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei reflects what he described as a “new equation” in the country’s political and security landscape. His remarks came during the procession in Tehran, where massive crowds gathered along a 10-kilometre route to participate in the ceremony.

Zolqadr said the participation of what he described as millions of mourners, some carrying red flags and chanting slogans, sent a clear message of national unity and defiance toward Iran’s adversaries. He said the scale of attendance demonstrated strong public solidarity and support for the Islamic Republic’s core values.

He further added that the gathering showed the Iranian people’s determination to stand united in the face of external threats. According to him, the event underscored continued commitment to defending the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and maintaining internal cohesion.
