Gaza Peace Board Calls for Unified Authority and Completion of Ongoing Roadmap Talks

The Gaza Peace Board said it has taken note of the announcement regarding the dissolution of an emergency committee in Gaza, stressing the need to ensure that the immediate and basic needs of the population are met without delay. It emphasized that humanitarian and administrative priorities must remain central during the ongoing transition period.

In its statement, the board said it is awaiting the successful completion of negotiations on a broader roadmap for governance and stability in the territory. It added that any administrative body in Gaza should be empowered to assume full governmental responsibilities in order to maintain order and deliver services effectively.

The board further underscored what it described as a guiding principle of “one authority, one law, and one weapon,” framing it as essential for long-term stability and governance. It said these principles are necessary to ensure unified administration and prevent institutional fragmentation.
