Saudi Arabia Cuts Oil Prices Sharply for Asian Buyers Reports Say

Saudi Arabia has reportedly reduced crude oil prices significantly for Asian buyers, according to Bloomberg. The move by state-owned energy company Saudi Aramco is said to include steep discounts on Arab Light crude for August deliveries, marking one of the largest price adjustments in recent years.

According to the report, the price reduction for Asian customers is estimated at around $11 per barrel, with analysts describing it as one of the most substantial cuts in decades. The adjustment comes amid increased global supply and heightened competition among major oil exporters.

Bloomberg noted that similar aggressive pricing strategies were last seen during the 2020 oil price downturn. The latest move is expected to intensify competition in global crude markets as suppliers compete for market share in Asia.
