DG ISPR Addresses Recent Balochistan Attacks, Outlines Security Response
RAWALPINDI: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said on Tuesday that three major terrorist incidents had taken place in Balochistan over the past four days, targeting innocent civilians as well as security personnel. Addressing a press conference, he said the militants claim to be fighting for Balochistan and Islam, but their actions prove to be against peace, innocent citizens and carrying enemies agenda.
The DG (ISPR) said security operations had been underway in Ziarat since July 6, where police personnel engaged the attackers. According to him, 15 militants were killed during the operation. He added that as security forces tightened the cordon, the militants martyred 18 police officers. He further stated that nine police personnel were martyred on the first day and another 18 on the second day of the violence.
DG (ISPR) said security forces also conducted operations in Kharan and Dalbandin, where 14 more militants were killed. He claimed that a total of 54 militants had been killed across the three recent incidents in Balochistan, while praising the police and other law enforcement agencies for their response. During the press conference, the DG ISPR also alleged that India was sponsoring terrorism in Balochistan.
DG (ISPR) strongly condemn the role of India and send a message to the enemy that nobody can dare to fear us, the enemies of Pakistan cannot accept the prosperity and strategic position of Pakistan. Out of most terrorists major number is from Afghanistan, Karachi attacks were planned and initiated from Afghanistan, no talks can be made with the pawn of enemies.
