Senior Iranian Lawmaker Emphasize US to Accept Iran’s New Strait of Hormuz Policy

TEHRAN: Ebrahim Azizi, Senior Iranian Lawmaker has said the United States has no alternative but to recognize what he described as Iran’s new governing framework for the Strait of Hormuz following reported U.S. military strikes that Tehran says violated a ceasefire agreement. Azizi, who heads the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, made the remarks in a post on X.
His comments came after Iranian officials accused the United States of carrying out airstrikes on coastal bases and civilian facilities in Hormozgan Province and the city of Mahshahr early Wednesday. Azizi said Washington should “recognize the new Iranian order in the Strait of Hormuz,” underscoring Iran’s position on control of the strategic waterway.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it responded by launching missiles and drones at 85 U.S. military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait, describing the operation as an “little response” to alleged U.S. aggression.
