Pezeshkian Says Martyred Khamenei Funeral Demonstrated National Unity in Iran

TEHRAN: Masoud Pezeshkian, The President of Iran has said the huge public turnout at the funeral ceremonies of the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, proves national unity and solidarity across Iran. Addressing a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Pezeshkian said millions of people participated in the funeral processions held in Tehran and the central city of Qom.
Pezeshkian expressed that the public gathering as a demonstration of unity, cohesion, ideological, and coordination among different segments of Iranian society. He said the scale of the ceremonies represented what he called a national response to external threats and served as a symbol of resilience.
The Iranian president said the historic participation in the funeral had created what he described as a “shield” against pressure from the US-Israel and allies. Iranian authorities stated that Ayatollah Khamenei was martyred in an airstrike on his office in Tehran on February 28, during a period of military escalation that later ended with a ceasefire in early April.
