Iran Issues Warning Over Strait of Hormuz Control, Promises Forceful Response

TEHRAN: Iran has warned again that it will not step down from managing the Strait of Hormuz and is proactively ready to use brutal force to maintain control over the strategic waterway which will be remembered for decades, according to an informed security source.

The source said recent developments over the past 48 hours have strengthened Tehran’s position, with a new military and strategic approach now in place. According to the source, any future attack on Iranian territory or interests would result in a major retaliatory response irrespective of main character and allies.

The source further stated that Iran’s reported response framework includes closing the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic following any strike and targeting opposing positions in retaliation.
