Iran Praises Iraq for Funeral Ceremonies Honoring Martyred Ayatollah Khamenei

Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has commend Iraq for hosting large-scale funeral ceremonies for the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, stating the events as a symbol of the strong relationship between the two countries.

Aref said the funeral procession held in the Iraqi holy cities of Najaf and Karbala reflected the deep cultural, religious, and historical ties between Iran and Iraq. He expressed gratitude to Iraqi religious authorities, scholars, tribal leaders, public organizations, and the government for what he called a significant display of hospitality.

Millions of mourners participated in the ceremonies, with the official funeral procession beginning in Najaf after prayers were held at the shrine of Imam Ali (AS). The procession later moved through key locations in the city, as mourners paid tribute to Martyred Ayatollah Khamenei.
