Independent Media Accuses US of Violating Ceasefire Agreement After Infrastructure Strikes

Independent media sources has accused the United States of carrying out extensive missile strikes on key transportation infrastructure across Iran, alleging that several strategic sites were targeted, including the Aq Taka Khan railway bridge in Golestan province, Torbat-e-Jam railway station, docks in Chabahar, a fishing port in Bandar Abbas, and a vessel traffic control tower. The report claimed the attacks took place early Thursday while the country was observing a period of mourning.
According to the reports from media, the strikes violated the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which it said was signed on June 17 between US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian with Pakistan’s mediation. The report stated that the agreement called for an immediate and permanent halt to military operations and mutual respect for each country’s sovereignty. It further claimed that President Trump declared the memorandum “over” during remarks on the sidelines of a NATO summit before the reported strikes.
The report also alleged that the US action was motivated by the large public turnout at the funeral procession for Iran’s Martyred Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
