Israel Claims Iran Plotted to Kill Donald Trump, Report Raises Questions in Washington

Trump Confirms Iran Gave Assurances of No Strait of Hormuz Tolls; Warns Negotiations Will Collapse If Reports Prove False
Fresh tensions have surfaced between Iran, Israel, and the United States after reports emerged that Israel shared intelligence with Washington alleging that Iran had prepared a plan to assassinate US President Donald Trump.
According to a report by CNN citing sources familiar with the matter, Israeli officials informed the United States earlier this week that Iran had allegedly developed a plan targeting Trump. The report said the intelligence was conveyed to American officials amid already heightened tensions in the region.
However, the claim has also triggered skepticism within parts of the US government. According to the same report, some American officials believe the Israeli assessment may have been intended, at least in part, to influence President Trump’s decision-making and push for faster or broader military action against Iran.
The allegation comes against the backdrop of longstanding US concerns that Iran could seek revenge for the 2020 drone strike that killed General Qassem Soleimani. American officials have for years argued that Tehran may view Trump as a central figure responsible for the operation and therefore a possible target for retaliation.
When asked about the reported threat, Trump said he was aware that he remained at the top of Iran’s target list and claimed that Tehran wanted to eliminate the American leadership. He described Iran’s intentions as a serious danger that needed to be addressed swiftly.
The latest report has added a new layer of uncertainty to an already volatile regional situation, especially as questions continue to swirl over the credibility, timing, and purpose of the intelligence shared by Israel.
So far, there has been no independent public confirmation of the alleged plot, and the report is likely to intensify diplomatic and security concerns in Washington at a time when the Middle East remains on edge.
